5 charged after truck slams into city fur store

Five Detroit men were indicted Friday on charges they rammed a stolen U-Haul truck into a Toledo fur store.

A Lucas County grand jury indicted Deshawn Diggs, 24; Alfred Johnson, 35; Adrian Hill, 26; Antwain McKenzie, 23, and Quinton Benson, 36, on charges of vandalism and receiving stolen property.

According to police reports, a Michigan police officer saw the U-Haul truck smash into Toledo Fur Services, 2123 W. Central Ave. about 6:30 a.m. Dec. 17 and called police. Officers stopped the U-Haul, reported stolen from Michigan, on northbound I-75 just north of Alexis Road.
