A Toledo woman who acted as if she had a gun when she robbed a West Toledo convenience store was sentenced Tuesday to 60 days in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio near Stryker.

After release, Virginia Wilcox, 34, of 2414 W. Alexis Rd. was ordered to spend six months in the Correctional Treatment Facility in Toledo and four months in the Lucas County Work Release Program. She was placed on community control for four years and ordered to pay $200 in restitution.

“That will put you in a restrictive environment long enough for you to deal with those demons,” Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart told Wilcox, a mother of four.

She had faced up to eight years in prison after being found guilty of robbery for a Sept. 27 holdup at the In & Out Mart, 5830 Douglas Rd. Her attorney, James Neumeyer, said his client had a drug addiction that led her to commit the robbery, the first felony on her record.
