Teens, pizza shop targeted
1/17/2014A Toledo man who is accused in two armed robberies during the last two months was arraigned Thursday in Toledo Municipal Court.
William Johnson, 24, of 354 Oakview Ct. is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery.
He remained in the Lucas County jail late Thursday in lieu of $200,000 bond.
Police said he robbed Happy’s Pizza, 27 S. Reynolds Rd., on Nov. 20.
Police said a man went into the South Toledo shop at 9:49 p.m., placed an order, and left.
He returned a short time later, pointed a small black handgun at the manager and said, “Give me the money. All the money. ... If you tell anyone, I will kill you.”
The manager gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash before the robber fled.
Mr. Johnson is also accused of robbing at gunpoint several people who planned to smoke marijuana with him, according to a police report.
Three teens met a man in a Stop & Go carryout in South Toledo at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday and walked to a nearby apartment where they all planned to get high together.
Once in the apartment building, the man pulled out a gun and robbed each of the teens, taking cell phones, keys, cash, tennis shoes, jewelry, and headphones before fleeing, police said.
