BOWLING GREEN — Prosecutors rested their case Wednesday against a Woodville man charged in an Oct. 28 crash near Bradner that killed a railroad worker and seriously injured two others.

The jury is expected to begin deliberations today after defense attorneys for Cody Rickard, 26, call any remaining witnesses.

Mr. Rickard, whose trial began Monday in Wood County Common Pleas Court, is charged with murder and two counts each of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, and felonious assault for the crash that killed Paul Castle, 34, of Paintsville, Ky., and injured Jim Conley, 58, of Findlay, and Luis Knott III, 58, of Banner, Ky.

The three CSX Transportation crew members were working on railroad tracks when a speeding car drove through barricades on Bradner Road and into the site.
