A former athletic trainer at Clay High School charged with engaging in sexual misconduct with a male student may face additional charges involving a second victim, a prosecutor said today.

Melinda Rober, 36, of 2552 106th St., appeared before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook, who set a trial date of April 7 for the two counts of sexual battery she is currently facing and for any additional charges that may be filed.

Jennifer Lamdin, an assistant Lucas County prosecutor, told the court she anticipates a case involving a new victim to be presented to the grand jury as early as next week. The original charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred at the school in 2011 and 2012 when Ms. Rober was employed by ProMedica under a contract with Clay.
