A Toledo man who manufactured some $10,000 in counterfeit bills was sentenced Tuesday to 18 months in federal prison.

Lakeith J. Meyers, 23, pleaded guilty Oct. 31 before U.S. District Court Judge Jack Zouhary to one count each of manufacturing counterfeit currency and uttering counterfeit currency. Federal prosecutors said he made the money at his home using a scanner and printer, then spent or sold the phony bills.

In addition to the prison sentence, Judge Zouhary ordered Meyers to pay $300 in restitution.
