Judge reaffirms process in Castalia man’s case
4/9/2014FREMONT — The judge who presided over a special grand jury that in November declined to indict anyone in a Castalia, Ohio, man’s 2012 death expressed support Tuesday for the grand-jury process during a news conference.
Visiting Judge Dale Crawford of Franklin County said he will issue a written affirmation of the grand-jury process after a special prosecuting attorney from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office filed a motion raising a possible “procedural” issue regarding failure to publish notification of the special grand-jury draw. The motion requested the judge’s review and reaffirmation following “issues raised by a local newspaper,” according to court documents.
Sandusky County Coroner John Wukie had ruled 19-year-old Jacob Limberios’ death a suicide, but a later attorney general’s investigation determined he died from a self-inflicted, but accidental, shooting.
