A South Toledo man convicted in a series of robberies was sentenced Tuesday to a year in prison for trafficking in heroin and having a gun while under disability.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart ordered Dustin Kaczala, 32, of 1151 Eastgate Rd. to serve the sentence at the same time as the 10-year sentence he got last month from Judge Dean Mandros for five counts of aggravated robbery.

Judge Duhart also sentenced three of Kaczala’s relatives, all of whom were indicted following a raid at the Eastgate Road home last November in which drugs, money, and guns were seized.

Randy Kaczala, 60, was placed on community control for three years after he pleaded guilty to permitting drug abuse.

Jacob Kaczala, 27, was placed on probation for two years and ordered to spend 30 days in the Lucas County Work Release Program after he pleaded guilty to attempted trafficking in marijuana.

And Mackenzie Kaczala, 28, was placed on probation for two years after entering an Alford plea to attempted permitting drug abuse.
