TIFFIN — A Seneca County grand jury indicted three suspects Thursday on felony charges for their roles in a Fostoria arson that left two people dead and one hospitalized last month.

Shey Weiker, 31, faces one count of aggravated arson, one count of aggravated murder, one count of murder, and one count of attempted murder. Authorities have said Ms. Weiker used a railroad flare to start the May 26 fire at 614 S. Poplar St. in Fostoria that killed Danny Marker, Jr., 48, and Tara Vance, 44, and sent Dana Weatherall, 49, to ProMedica Toledo Hospital.

Hall

Charles Schaeffer, 44, and Timothy Hall, 20, also were indicted. Mr. Schaeffer faces one count of complicity to aggravated arson, one count of complicity to aggravated murder, one count of complicity to murder, and one count of complicity to attempted murder. Mr. Hall faces one count of tampering with evidence and two counts of obstructing justice.

All three are being held in Seneca County jail without bond.

According to Mr. Marker’s family, all three victims of the fire were hearing impaired, and Mr. Marker was partially blind. Shane Marker, 40, Mr. Marker’‍s brother, said Ms. Vance and Ms. Weatherhall were visiting from the Ohio School for the Deaf in Columbus.

The county prosecutor and attorneys for the accused could not be reached for comment Thursday.

It was unclear Thursday whether prosecutors would seek the death penalty.
