Grand jury indicts carryout suspects

    Two men believed to be responsible for 10 convenience store robberies in recent weeks were indicted Thursday by a Lucas County grand jury.

    Leroy Alcorn, 24, whose last known address was on Prouty Avenue, was indicted on 13 counts of aggravated robbery with firearm specifications, four counts of kidnapping, and two counts of felonious assault.

    DaJuan Willingham, 25, of 438 Southgate Circle Dr. was indicted on 10 counts of aggravated robbery with firearm specifications, two counts of felonious assault, and three counts of kidnapping. Also charged with one count each of aggravated robbery and obstructing justice was Ieasha Bates, 23, of 434 Southgate Circle Dr.

    Prosecutors say the charges stem from hold-ups May 5 at Stop & Go, 1806 Arlington Ave.; May 9 at Stop & Go, 1901 Broadway; May 16 and June 10 at Stop & Go, 1409 Western; May 19 at Stop & Go, 1256 Broadway; May 26 at E-Z Mart, 1226 East Broadway; May 30 at Airport Stop, 3326 Airport Hwy.; June 1 at Cigarette Outlet of Toledo, 2620 Airport Hwy.; June 6 at Saveway Market Red & White, 1936 Broadway, and June 7 at In & Out Mart, 2425 Key St.

    In some instances, employees were detained and robbed. Willingham, who was arrested last week, is to be arraigned Wednesday by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Michael Goulding. Mr. Alcorn remains at large.
