1 of 4 suspects in theft, chase, crash arraigned

A Toledo man — one of four believed to be involved in a theft, turned pursuit, turned car crash that ended in gunshots — was arraigned Tuesday in Toledo Municipal Court.

Duane Talley, Jr., 18, of 2219 Putnam St. was charged with aggravated robbery. He was ordered to remain in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond. Police said the suspect was one of four people who robbed Garland Paynther of a video game system near the McDonald’s on East Manhattan Boulevard on July 8‍.

When the suspects took off with the system, the victim chased them in a vehicle. One of the vehicles crashed near Booth and Buckeye streets. Shots were fired. No injuries were reported.
