Man guilty of reckless homicide in strangling death
Prosecutors say incident was 'rough sex that went horribly wrong'

A Toledo man was found guilty today of a reduced charge of reckless homicide for strangling a woman during what prosecutors described as “rough sex that went horribly wrong.”
Denzil Wells II, 41, of 1411 Brooke Park Dr., entered an Alford plea – not admitting guilt – to charges of reckless homicide and obstructing justice for the April 13 death of Nicole Sours, 37, at his apartment.
He faces a maximum of just four years in prison when he is sentenced Aug. 25 by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda.
He had been indicted May 22 on charges of murder and felonious assault.
Family members of Ms. Sours were visibly upset with the plea agreement for Wells, a man they said they had never met and who the victim had only known briefly.
“My Mom is beside herself,” the victim’s sister, Shanan Iddi, said afterward. “There is no justice in this. There never will be.”
