Toledoan indicted for assault

A Toledo man accused of burning and beating his live-in girlfriend was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Friday for felonious assault.

Brandon Schley, 30, of 3943 Airport Hwy. was not indicted on charges of assault and domestic violence, although those were presented to the grand jury.

Toledo police said Schley poured boiling water July 21 on Amber Cummings, used a cigarette to burn her, and beat her with a wire hanger and a video-game controller.
