Six months after a Toledo man was shot to death in the parking lot of a South Toledo nightclub, two men were indicted Wednesday in the slaying.

Orlando Nelson, 22, of 1511 Oakwood Ave. was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury for murder with a firearm specification and tampering with evidence in the Feb. 16 slaying of Lamar Booker, 23. Mr. Booker was shot in the chest about 3:40 a.m. in the parking lot of Club Status, 3122 Airport Hwy.

Cleophaus Davis, 23, of 3393 Glenwood Ave. was indicted on a charge of obstructing official business.

According to Toledo Municipal Court records, Nelson was arrested on a murder warrant Aug. 12 and arraigned the next day. Judge C. Allen McConnell set bond at $1 million.

In June, Nelson was in Lucas County Common Pleas Court where he was placed on community control for two years by Judge Gene Zmuda after pleading guilty to a felony count of attempted carrying a concealed weapon for a Dec. 29, 2013, incident in which he had a loaded handgun in the 1500 block of Norwood Avenue.
