East Toledoan guilty in dressing room assault

An East Toledo man accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a dressing room at a Goodwill store in Oregon pleaded no contest Wednesday to gross sexual imposition.

Jesus Escalara, 25, of the 500 block of Potter Street is to be sentenced July 11 by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda, who accepted his plea and found him guilty of the fourth-degree felony.

Prosecutors said that on Feb. 21, Escalara followed a woman into a dressing room at Goodwill, 3249 Navarre Ave., where he exposed himself, grabbed her, and forced his hand down her pants. As part of a plea agreement, charges of rape and abduction are to be dismissed at sentencing.
