Ohio stores plan midnight sales of Grand Theft Auto IV game

COLUMBUS, Ohio Ohio retailers are gearing up for the Tuesday midnight release of the Grand Theft Auto IV video game.

Mike Waring of Game Crazy says about 150 people have reserved the game at the Columbus store. Analysts predict the game will easily top the first-week video-game sales record of $300 million set last year by Halo 3.

Grand Theft Auto puts players in a hyper-realized version of New York City. Players can hijack cars, earn cash for criminal activities, flee from police, kill innocent bystanders and patronize strip clubs.

GameStop Corporation has announced midnight events at 3,500 of its GameStop and EB Games stores across the country including more than 20 in central Ohio.
