"...as human beings we are capable of making sense of situations based on the thinnest slice of experience."

Malcolm Gladwell, author of Blink and The Tipping Point.

GOODBYE TO RICHARD WRIGHT: While Roger Waters and David Gilmour got all the attention for Pink Floyd's success and epic creative struggles, Richard Wright was a major force in the band's sound thanks to his moody keyboard work and inventive playing. He

died Monday at the age of 65. (RL)

MOMMA LOVES YOU BABY: Two gentle Richard Wright piano pieces made memorable by a red-hot pop star and a cabaret diva at the 1990 The Wall concert in Berlin. Ute Lemper sizzles through "The Thin Ice". Then Sinead O'Connor sings an eclectic version of "Mother". Both songs were disrupted during the live concert by power failures. Rogers Waters duets with both in these rehearsal takes. (KC)

PIGS ON THE WING: Folks in Michigan no doubt wish they could make these pigs fly far, far away. (RL)

BAD MOVIE WEEK: Movie critics, load your weapons. Ready? Aim. Fire! Oh my, the big movies that came out last week loaded with A-list actors like Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Meg Ryan, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Frances Mcdormand took a rather harsh battering as they opened up over the weekend. This shot at The Women has a headline for the ages. The DeNiro/Pacino pairing in Righteous Kill gets some back-handed compliments that are not flattering. And The Blade's Kirk Baird weighs in on the confusing Burn After Reading. (RL)
