Jam band fans rejoice! Phish is coming back.

"...as human beings we are capable of making sense of situations based on the thinnest slice of experience."

Malcolm Gladwell, author of Blink and The Tipping Point.

A PHISH STORY: The boys are back. America's favorite jam band (now that Jerry Garcia is gone from the Grateful Dead) made all the rumors come true and said they're reuniting for a few shows in Hampton, Va., in March, followed by a 2009 tour. For Phish fans jonesing for a jam fix, this is a heavy thing. (RL)

MEANWHILE: Janet Jackson is having more than just wardrobe malfunctions on her Rock Witchu tour. She's had to

postpone several shows including one in Detroit due to all kinds of problems, sparking speculation that when you're in your 40s those aerobic shows just aren't so easy to pull off anymore. (RL)

GLUTTON FOR PUNISHMENT: How would you like to be Elisabeth Hasselbeck knowing that each day brings a new beat-down before your daytime "The View" audience. (KC)

WOOF: Bailout, schmailout. Americans have plenty of money for this - dog costumes. But before you start to try to pull one on over your head - they're actually for the dogs. (KC)

APPRECIATING PAUL NEWMAN: He could be funny. He could be tragic. He could be suave. He could be desperate. But always he was cool. That was the gift of Paul Newman: even when the world was crumbling around him, as in The Towering Inferno, he was always three-C: cool, calm, collected. He almost always seemed to be in control; even when the fates decreed his character must die, it was usually a noble death on his terms. Check out The Blade's Kirk Baird's take on Newman's career.

ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR!: It's a safe wager that those will be the first words out of Bruce Springsteen's mouth when he plays the Super Bowl halftime show next year. He and the E Street Band were announced Monday as the entertainment for the game, which makes it a sure bet that you'll see some fiery musicianship.. And if you need a lesson in how to count like Springsteen, Ben Stiller is here to help. (RL)

FORTUNATE ONE: Toledo native and Friday Night Lights actress Adrianne Palicki wants to have John Fogerty's babies. Oh, and she liked his recent concert in Austin too. Read her blog review in Entertainment Weekly. (RS)

BUSTED: Another week and another Hollywood star gets arrested on some kind of drug or alcohol charge. This time it's Heather Locklear, who was allegedly seen driving erratically in the Los Angeles area. Never a good thing. (RL)

GOODBYE: Paul Leonard Newman was an American actor, entrepreneur, and auto racing enthusiast. He sadly passed away this weekend due to cancer. Newman said that the most fun he ever had making a movie was on Slap Shot. Check out an old Newman epic and an older Newman in an epic. Newman and Joanne Woodward enjoyed a long marriage. Having a tough day? Try getting this little ditty out of your head. (KC)
