CHA-CHING!: As expected, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is doing well at the box office, pulling in $104 million on its opening day. And in the "who'd a thunk it" category, there's the Christian connection to Potter. (RL)
YOU GO, DAVE: It's been a good ratings run for David Letterman recently. Jay Leno is no longer his competition, Sarah Palin blessed him with a public controversy and Paul McCartney showed up this week for a show. He even sounds good on "Coming Up." (RL)

OH, THE TRAGEDY, OH, THE BLISS: Looks like Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have broken up because apparently he just wasn't that into her. That and her dad was meddler. Meanwhile in another space-time continuum, Robert Redford has decided to marry a German abstract artist. (RL)
HERE COMES HARRY: Just a day away from the release of the new Harry Potter movie and the stars out explaining what's going on in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The sixth movie in the series is being reviewed as a bit more soul-searching than its predecessors as the young actors who play the key roles grow up. The film opens in Toledo Wednesday and The Blade's Kirk Baird will have a review in that day's paper. (RL)
