Jay-Z goes after ticket scalpers; Kate Gosselin nude? No

9/10/2009

"...as human beings we are capable of making sense of situations based on the thinnest slice of experience."

Malcolm Gladwell, author of Blink and The Tipping Point.

JERK ALERT: If you want to lose faith in your fellow humans, read on. Jay-Z comes up with a great idea: hold a reasonably priced benefit concert for the family members of 9/11 victims. Cool. So he puts the tickets on sale and scalpers scoop them up and then resell them at a huge markup, which is deplorable. (RL)

WE COULDN'T RESIST: We know that we've declared a ban on Jon and Kate Gosselin because, well, because we just don't like them. They sold out their family and their kids to appear on reality TV and that's a bad thing. But this is irresistible: Hugh Hefner apparently offered Kate the opportunity to pose nude in Playboy. Thank goodness she said no. (RL)

ALL WE NEED IS...: The Beatles are back together, sort of, starting Wednesday when their version of the Rock Band video game comes out. Should be interesting. Next up: the Fabs get their entire musical catalog spruced up with a major remixing. (RL)

SLEAZE FACTOR: Melrose Place is back and sleazier than ever and some folks like that. (RL)
