Olympian lands cameo on '90210'

Olympic champion swimmer Ryan Lochte, 28, who won two gold medals in London, will play himself in a cameo appearance in the high-school TV series 90210 in October.

The U.S. swimmer will cross paths with Naomi Clark, played by AnnaLynne McCord, and Max Miller (Josh Zuckerman), at a resort where they are trying to rebuild their rocky relationship.

Lochte has been busy fielding offers from Hollywood since he made a splash at London 2012. He said last week he was moving from Florida to Los Angeles and would love to appear on TV contest Dancing with the Stars or The Bachelor.

Sparring

Kim Kardashian's divorce has engulfed her family and network, literally.

Attorneys for her estranged husband sought detailed records Wednesday about her reality shows and details of depositions with her mother and current boyfriend Kanye West to prove her 72-day marriage to NBA player Kris Humphries was a fraud.

The legal bickering means it's unlikely the couple will be granted a divorce, or annulment, as Humphries desires, before next year, attorneys and a judge said during a testy hearing.

Last tour

Country music icon George Jones says he's ready for one last go-round on tour before retiring from the road.

Jones said in a statement Tuesday that 2013's The Grand Tour will be his last after more than 50 years on the road. He plans about 60 dates and says it's hard to quit doing what he loves, "but the time has come."

At 81, Jones is widely considered the greatest living country singer and his contributions to the genre such as "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and "White Lightning" remain standards. He's back on the road this year after postponing or canceling some dates because of a respiratory infection that led to a pair of hospital stays.

Hip hop scholar

Hip hop pioneer DJ Afrika Bambaataa has been appointed to a three-year term as a visiting scholar at Cornell University.

The appointment announced Tuesday was made by Cornell University Library's Hip Hop Collection in conjunction with the Ivy League school's music department.

Bambaataa will visit Cornell's upstate New York campus several days each year to talk to classes, meet with student and community groups, and perform the music he helped create and expand. His first visit will be in November.

Cornell officials say the university's library contains the largest national archive on hip hop culture.

Restraining order

A judge has granted Sheryl Crow a three-year restraining order against a man who a witness says threatened to shoot the singer-songwriter.

Superior Court Judge James Hahn issued the order after a hearing Tuesday in Santa Monica, Calif. The order requires Philip Gordon Sparks to not try to contact or meet the actress for the next three years.

Crow obtained temporary restraining order against the 45-year-old in July after told a union worker he was going to shoot the Grammy winner and film executive Harvey Weinstein. Sparks repeatedly said in court he believes Crow and Weinstein stole money from him.

A judge also granted Weinstein a three-year restraining order against Sparks.
