LUCKEY, Ohio - John Moore, 64, a former vice president of the Exchange Bank here and a former township clerk who enjoyed many hobbies, died of heart failure Wednesday in St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee.

Mr. Moore worked at the bank for 40 years, from 1966, when he started as an assistant cashier, until retiring in 2005 after many years of service as vice president.

He was a Webster Township clerk in Wood County in the 1960s.

"He was very dedicated and was very well respected by the people he worked with and by his associates in the banking industry," his brother, Harold Moore, said.

Mr. Moore graduated from Eastwood High School and Stautzenberger Business College.

In his free time, Mr. Moore, who lived in Perrysburg, enjoyed collecting Santa Claus and other Christmas memorabilia, growing flowers, making flower arrangements, cooking, and baking.

Harold Moore said John Moore liked people and enjoyed activities he could share with them.

By 1987, when The Blade did a story about his Christmas memorabilia collection, it had 1,000 items, including stuffed Santas, posters, ashtrays, cookie jars, drinking glasses, coasters, and shower curtains.

Mr. Moore used items from his collection to help decorate the Manor House at Wildwood Preserve Metropark and the Wood County Historical Society in Bowling Green for Christmas, and open house events at his home in the 1980s and 1990s.

Mr. Moore also regularly entered his flower arrangements in the Wood County Fair and was a seven-time recipient of its Freida Sander Award over the last 30 years.

Mr. Moore was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bowling Green.

His other memberships included Ohio Association of Garden Clubs, Wood County Garden Club, and Designing Men and Women, Wauseon.

Surviving are his brothers, Robert, Harold, and Gary.

Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Marsh Funeral Home, Pemberville, where the body will be after 2 p.m. today.

The family suggests tributes to the Wood County Fair's flower show fund.
