Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

 

Dogs killed

Dogs killed July 24-25 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

Boxer/Rottweiler mix, orange and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/food guarder (scored 4 out of 5 on July 23), Linden Place, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Chinese Shar-Pei mix, black male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4/4 on July 22), Berwick Avenue, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

“Pit bull,” black and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3/5 on July 22), Austin Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull,” orange and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 3/5 on July 23), Mulberry Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull,” white and black male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3/5 on July 23), Nebraska Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Labrador retriever, yellow male, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (elderly, difficulty walking, ill), surrendered by David Dodge, Oakdale Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” white and brindle female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (very sick, tested positive for highly contagious parvovirus, no transfer partner able to take), Willamont Road, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Boxer mix, tan and white male, Anmarie Court, Oregon, stray brought to the shelter.

German shepherd mix, orange female, Islington Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Plott hound mix, brindle female, Summit Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

“Pit bull,” tan and white female, Norwood Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.
