Al Moore, a sophomore from Toledo, plans to become a biochemist with a doctorate of philosopy degree as well as one in education. He loves science, math, American studies, English, and Latin, and he has a 3.17 grade-point average.

Al has received numerous honor-roll and principal's-list awards since he was in kindergarten. He is recipient of German achievement awards, great citizenship awards, and football trophies.

He is an active participant in the peer leadership program, boxes at the local ring, and picks up nuisance trash around the neighborhood with his dad.

"I've had the pleasure of knowing Al for the past three years," said teacher Lonnie McAbier. "He is one of those students that you know will be successful in life. He is academically smart but is emotionally intelligent. He is a role model for all high school students. Toledo Technology Academy is proud of him."

Al is the son of Al and Eola Moore.
