Tours set for 2 houses built by Penta students

5/14/2008

Two houses built by high school seniors in Penta Career Center's construction trades programs will be open for public tours May 18.

The homes, built in Luckey, Ohio, as part of a senior class project, will be open from 1 to 4 p.m., one at 5985 Dowling Rd., east of Stony Ridge Road, and the other at 340 Walker St., off Broadview Road.

The house on Dowling Road is a two-story home with 2,900 square feet of living space, two gas fireplaces, plus four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, and a two-car garage.

The house on Walker Street is a ranch with 2,300 square feet of living space, three bedrooms, and 2 1/2 bathrooms on the main floor and a bedroom and full bathroom in the basement. There are special features in both homes.

More than 150 students in four different Penta programs worked on some aspect of the home construction projects during the school year, supervised by their instructors.

The home building projects are part of the high school curriculum in the construction trades programs.
