Help offered for teen talks at Oregon library

Teens and adults talking about drugs, depression, and family dynamics have another place to turn for help.

The Oregon Branch of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library and the Oregon Community and Family Coalition will collaborate to provide "Reaching Out," a resource for discussion.

The library is a perfect spot for it, Diane Folsom, children's librarian for the Oregon library, said.

"This is where a lot of the community meets and comes for community news and we think that the public would find it here more than anywhere else," she said.

The branch at 3340 Dustin Rd. will have materials available for checkout, as well as free pamphlets and resource guides.

Tana Schiewer, director of the coalition, said the resource began as a month-long display at the library in September.

The organization provided pamphlets, donated some books, and worked with a librarian to find appropriate selections for the display.

"Since we're a small staff, we can only be here so often," she said. "We wanted to provide greater access to these materials."
