A theater group formed in Rossford earlier this year has chosen a name and elected a nine-member board of directors.

President Dave Misko said Center Stage Productions plans to serve the Northwest Ohio area from Rossford.

Officers are Ryan Mahaffey, vice president; Ginger Miller, secretary, and co-treasurers Jennifer Harmon and Jennifer Wheaton-Rodriguez. Other board members include Brian and Heather Dreier, Roy Miller, and Candie Misko.

Center Stage Productions' board is represented by an attorney, a certified accountant, amedia relations specialist, and a writer.

Mr. Misko, who works in information technology at the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, said that in addition to traditional theatrical performances, Center Stage Productions is interested in the original works of local writers. Center Stage Productions is accepting scripts for consideration, he said.

"Now that we are operating, we can focus on funding and finding a stage for our first production," Mr. Misko said in a statement. "There is a lot of talent on this board. Each of them brings amazing ideas to the table. The residents of northwest Ohio should be very excited with all the options out there for community theater."

Center Stage Productions does not have a production schedule set, although its members have discussed the possibility of doing Do Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? as the first show, Mr. Misko said.

The thespian group has spoken with All Saints Catholic Church for possibly using it as its home auditorium, he said.

Tasks on the theater company's to-do list are to seek funding, file the paperwork to be established as a nonprofit, and make plans for the Rossford Halloween parade.

Mr. Misko said scripts can be submitted to scripts@centerstageprod.org.
