East Toledo

•Teresa Morris from Congressman Marcy Kaptur's office will be the guest speaker at the East Toledo-Raymer Area Block Watch 422A Meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 at Memorial United Methodist Church of Christ, 1301 Starr Ave. The public is welcome.

Oregon

•A rummage and bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 10, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 11 at Christ United Methodist Church, 5757 Starr Ave. Sept. 11 is $2 Bag Day. Lunch will be available both days.

•Toledo East Women's Connection will sponsor an annual guest night dinner-program on Sept. 10 at Bayside Boardwalk, 2759 Seaman Rd. Featured will be Matthew Kutz, assistant professor of athletic training and clinic management at BGSU, who has traveled with Olympic teams to Brazil and South Korea, and speaker Joe Abraham from Cleveland. •The 3rd Annual JWH Oregon Senior Center Follies, "Seniors Got Talent," will be performed at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 and 3 p.m. Sept. 13 in the Mercy St. Charles Hospital Auditorium. •National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc., Beta Gamma Chapter of Toledo, will sponsor its inaugural Calla Lily educator's award luncheon Oct. 10 at The Pinnacle in Maumee. Special honors and an award will be given to individuals who go beyond the call of duty to help students achieve their potential. A person, group or organization may nominate classroom instructors, school administrators, college professors, sports coaches, community leaders, day-care providers, and parent leaders who meet the above qualifications. •34th annual Miss Northwestern Ohio Scholarship Pageant, a preliminary to the Miss Ohio and Miss America scholarship pageants, will be Nov. 14 in the Defiance Community Auditorium. The pageant committee is seeking female contestants between the ages of 17 and 24, who are single, never been married, or pregnant, and live, work, or go to school in Ohio. The areas of competition are talent, interview, swimsuit, and evening wear. There are no entry fees. The program is affiliated with the Children's Miracle Network, and each contestant will be asked to obtain sponsors to contribute a combined $100 to the Children's Miracle Network.
