Northwood to enhance pact with ticket agency

3/17/2010

Northwood has tweaked its proposed three-year contract with Redflex Traffic Systems Inc. of Arizona so the city will receive even more money from the deal.

If approved by Northwood City Council, Redflex will receive $55 per ticket the first year, with pricing being adjusted in following years based on the U.S. Consumer Price Index. The previous proposal called for Redflex to receive $57.50 a ticket in the first year.

Under the existing contract, which expires next month, Redflex receives 75 percent of all paid citations. Its share would never be more than half in the proposed contract. Council is to consider the proposal at its March 25 meeting.
