Rossford council approves air-bottle purchase

Rossford City Council has authorized the purchase of 20 air bottles for the fire department for $11,063.

The carbon-wrapped cylinders are to replace the department’s inventory, which is 15 years old and at the end of its service life.

Fire Chief James Verbosky told council members the city was getting a good price. The bottles normally sell for $1,300 each.

In other action at its meeting last week, council named the Wood County engineer as the lead local agency on the Glenwood Road pedestrian bridge project over Grassy Creek. A Safe Routes to School Program grant is financing the bridge.
