The Ohio Chautauqua Program, which tours with actors playing characters who figured in the Buckeye State's history, is to be in Rossford next summer July 9-13.

Rossford Mayor Mark MacKinnon said 1,200 to 2,000 visitors a day are expected in the city during the performances, which will be in Veterans Memorial Park in a large tent. The Ohio Humanities Council sponsors the tour, which also is to stop at Bexley, Coshocton, Lakewood, and Madison.

The Rossford dates were kept confidential until they were released last week at Owens Community College at a special performance of Jeremy Meier's Oliver Hazard Perry: Hero of Lake Erie. Mr. Meier's one-man show is part of the chautauqua tour.
