$6,000 grant approved for Toledo family center
10/9/2012The Toledo Community Foundation board has approved a $6,050 grant for the East Toledo Family Center that will pay for free seniors services such as theme parties, evening meals, cooking and nutrition classes, and a volunteer breakfast at the East Toledo Senior Activities Center.
The foundation is a public charitable organization in existence since 1973 that has assets of $160 million in more than 540 funds.
The senior activities center is the direct recipient of a $10,000 grant from the Toledo Rotary Foundation that will be used to buy equipment and a vehicle for the center’s Chore Program, which provides services such as mowing, trimming, leaf and snow removal at low cost to seniors.
