Toledo police arrest man in shooting death early this morning on city's east side

Toledo police tonight announced they have made an arrest in the shooting death early this morning on the city's east side.

Danny Kendzierski, age and address unavailable, was taken into custody at 12:05 p.m. today by SWAT team officers and detectives who had executed a search warrant at 7 Magyar St.  He was in the process of being booked tonight at the Lucas County jail on a charge of murder.

Lamine Wilson, 32, of Toledo, was pronounced dead at 5:05 a.m. today at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where he was taken after the incident. A second victim, Kenneth Lee, 27, was injured in the shooting and was transported to St. Charles with non-life-threatening injuries, police report.

Authorities say the three men were in a car together in the Birmingham neighborhood at 4:20 a.m. when they allege that Mr. Kendzierski shot Mr. Lee and Mr. Wilson instead the vehicle, and then fled the vehicle on foot. The two shooting victims, police say, drove to the 2100 block of Woodford Avenue, where they sought help from a relative.

The Lucas County Coroner's Office today reported that Mr. Wilson died of a single gunshot wound to the back.
