Oregon Police seek applicants for citizens academy

The Oregon Police Division is accepting registrations for its annual Citizen Police Academy.

The 10-week program starts March 11 and is to be from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays in the community room, 5330 Seaman Rd. Topics include police operations, crime prevention, investigations, road patrol, and self-defense.

Participants must be at least 18, have a valid driver’s license, and pass a background check. Preference is given to applicants who live or work in the city. Contact Sgt. Tony Castillo at 419-698-7180 or tcastillo@oregonohio.org.
