Work on phase 2 of the Stadium Road Bikeway is scheduled to begin next month.

The 1.52-mile bikeway will connect the Oregon Municipal Complex connector bikeway that ends on Corduroy Road just west of Stadium to the existing shared-use path on Stadium that ends on Eagles Landing Drive. It is a key part of the Oregon Bikeway Plan. The completion date is June 28. When done, it will mark the completion of a seven-mile path from Pearson Metropark to Maumee Bay State Park.

The city has been awarded $440,000 in transportation enhancement funding for the project through the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments. The Stadium bikeway will be a 10-foot-wide asphalt path along the west side of the road.

On Corduroy, two 5-foot-wide bike lanes will be added for the segment between Clay High School and Stadium. Corduroy will be widened by 3 feet on each side to accommodate the bike lanes.

Access to driveways will be maintained except when construction is in front of them. Mannik and Smith Group Inc. of Maumee will have a project representative on site full time to address any concerns. Questions also can be directed to the city’s department of public service at 419-698-7047.
