Jobless rate falls in March

4/16/2005

The jobless rate dropped last month in Ohio, and was down in all northwest Ohio counties, though some rates were higher than the same month last year, figures released yesterday by the state Job and Family Services Department show. Hancock County had the lowest rate in the area at 5.4 percent, but the lowest in the state was Delaware County at 4.5 percent. Highest in the area was Ottawa County at 10.2 percent, but highest in the state was Pike County at 12.3 percent. The state rate dropped to 6.3 percent in March from 6.4 percent in February, but just 300 jobs were added.
