N.W. Ohio manufacturing sector has strong showing

4/16/2005

Factory activity in northwest Ohio had its second strong showing in a row last month, and for the third consecutive month it exceeded a national average.

A northwest Ohio index of manufacturing released yesterday showed a 62.1 percent reading, above the national level of 55.2. A reading above 50 indicates increased manufacturing activity. The index, compiled by Toledo's Regional Growth Partnership, shows strong readings for production, new orders, and employment and solid readings for vendor deliveries, inventories, and commodity prices.
