Ag Dept. awards grants to Ohio farmers group

COLUMBUS - The Ohio Farmers Family Farm Center Inc., a not-for-profit group that helps farm families deal with expansion and consolidation, has been awarded grants of $398,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

One grant is $298,000 to help state farmers and small businesses develop and promote cooperatives. The second is $99,999 for a revolving loan fund in Ottawa, Erie, Huron, Sandusky, Seneca, and Crawford counties to create value-added ventures related to agriculture.
