Sandusky OfficeMax among 6 in Ohio to close

1/27/2006

OfficeMax said yesterday it will close six stores in Ohio by April, and one is in Sandusky, at 4314 Milan Rd.

The chain is trying to cut expenses and shore up its finances. The company also plans to shutter stores in Beaver Creek, Oakwood Village, Columbus, Parma, and Marion. It has 47 other Ohio stores.

The firm said it will try to place the affected workers in other stores and is looking to fill about 1,000 positions at its headquarters in Itasca, Ill.
