An auto-service chain in Rochester, N.Y., is buying the assets of ProCare Automotive

service shops, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Sunday.

Monro Muffler Brake Inc. said it will pay $14 million in cash to acquire ProCare Automotive Service Solutions LLC, of Cleveland. The deal is subject to approval of bankruptcy court, but Monro has agreed to provide $3.65 million in debtor s

financing to keep ProCare afloat through bankruptcy proceedings.

Founded in 1985, ProCare has 82 service centers, including five in the Toledo area.

Monro, which has more than 600 stores, said it will keep the ProCare sites open as service or tire stores and will not cut any jobs.
