BAX Global to add flights from, to Germany

5/19/2006

BAX Global Inc. will start its second international air freight route in June, with a DC-8 arriving from Hahn, Germany, on Fridays and returning to Germany on Sundays.

The route is an attempt by BAX Global's new owner, Deutsche Bahn AG, to connect customers in Germany and Europe with Ohio and the United States through the two large air freight hubs in Hahn and Toledo. The Germany route is the first substantive move since ownership changed this year.

Pilots, flight attendants, and mechanics at the feeder carrier for Northwest Airlines Corp. that serves Toledo Express Airport had threatened to strike if Mesaba were to be allowed to impose its terms on them.
