Area program to assist biobased products

The Northwest Ohio Green Products Center, a program to assist and promote biobased products, has been created at the Center for Innovative Food Technology in Toledo.

The program, announced yesterday, is to provide resources and technical assistance including business planning, government contracts, and marketing aid, said Rebecca Singer, of the center. The range of products includes alternative vehicle fuel, packaging materials, chemicals, and adhesives.

The new center, at the food technology center at 5555 Airport Hwy., also has help from the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, Regional Growth Partnership, University of Toledo Small Business and Entrepreneurial Institute, Bowling Green State University Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, and the Lucas County Improvement Corporation.
