Ohio s minimum wage is to jump to $7 an hour Jan. 1 from $6.85 now. For restaurant and other workers who receive tips, the minimum will go from $3.43 an hour to $3.50.
The rate applies to workers at businesses with gross revenue of more than $255,000 a year, the state Department of Commerce said. The increase is mandated by a constitutional amendment passed by Ohio voters in 2006.
