Jobless rates declined across northwest Ohio and much of the state last month, according to a report Tuesday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Ottawa County retained the highest rate among counties in the state for the second consecutive month, while Hancock County had the lowest rate in the region and the sixth lowest in the state.

Seven of the 16 northwest Ohio counties had rates below double digits in March and Toledo’s rate was tied with Cleveland’s among big Ohio cities, but was lower than Youngstown’s 11.2 percent and Dayton’s 10.4 percent.
