About 100 local salaried employees of Dana Holding Corp. were laid off this week and others reassigned as part of a restructuring, a spokesman said Friday.

The "managerial and staff level" employees were terminated at the firm's headquarters and other sites in northwest Ohio as well as in its office in Detroit's suburbs, spokesman Chuck Hartlage said. He could not provide the total jobs cut at each site, other than to say the majority were in northwest Ohio.

The cuts were needed as Dana reorganized down to three business units, he said. Displaced employees received transition assistance and outplacement help.
