Toledo-area gasoline prices are drifting under the $3-a-gallon mark.

GasBuddy.com reported Thursday a handful of fuel outlets clustered in southwest Toledo dropped the price of a gallon of regular gas to $2.92 a gallon.

That price was reported at Sunoco, 541 North Reynolds Rd. at Nebraska; Speedway, 5160 Dorr St. at North Reynolds Road, and Marathon, 1235 North Holland-Sylvania Rd. at Dorr Street.

Motorists seeking bargain-priced fuel should avoid stations in the Rossford and Perrysburg areas, where GasBuddy reported prices topping $3.37 a gallon.

Thursday’s prices were a real deal compared with last month, when the average price of regular gasoline was $3.62 a gallon.

Prices will need to descend even lower if they are to match the cost of fuel a year ago. GasBuddy reports the average price of regular gasoline at this time last year was $2.55 a gallon.
