Toledo is one of the top five most affordable college towns in the nation, Coldwell Banker Real Estate said Tuesday.

The New Jersey company ranked the affordability of 116 cities that are home to major college football teams, although Bowling Green was not among the cities surveyed. The report found that a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home listed for sale on Coldwell Banker’s Web site had an average price of $112,688, fourth lowest in the country. A year ago, Toledo ranked ninth in the survey.

A year ago the survey looked at homes with four bedrooms and included Bowling Green, ranking it 23rd.

The survey looked at listings between August, 2010, and August, 2011. Memphis (home to University of Memphis) was lowest, at $89,244, and the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles (home to University of California, Los Angeles) was highest at $1.27 million.
