LYONS, Ohio — The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited B.W. Grinding Co., doing business as B.W. Supply, for 25 safety and health violations. Proposed penalties total $205,100.

The violations were found at the company’s iron foundry in Fulton County’s Lyons.

Three of the violations were listed as willful, meaning they were committed intentionally or with voluntary disregard for the law’s requirements, or with indifference to worker safety.

Twenty “serious” violations include damaged safety latches on crane and hoist hooks, burn hazards, and improper storage and labeling of hazardous materials.

B.W. Supply, which has about 40 employees, has 15 business days to comply, contest the findings, or request a conference with OSHA.
