Michigan jobless rate falls to 9.1% for October

LANSING — Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell 0.2 percentage point to 9.1 percent in October as its work force reached a 2012 high of 4.7 million, the state Department of Technology, Management, and Budget said Wednesday. The state’s jobless rate has fallen from an October, 2011, level of 9.9 percent.

The nation’s October unemployment rate was 7.9 percent, up from 7.8 percent in September. Ohio’s rate is to be announced Friday.
