Job-creation tax credits OK’d for 3 firms in area

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved assistance Monday for 17 projects, including three in northwest Ohio.

NRI Industrial Sales LLC was approved for a 40 percent, six-year job-creation tax credit for a project in Delta. The Canadian company, which sells surplus industrial parts and equipment, told the state it would create 30 full-time positions. It will operate out of a plant formerly occupied by Graham Packaging Co.

Eagle Railcar Services-Cairo, Ohio LLC, of Monroe Township in Allen County, expects to create 28 full-time positions and retain current jobs with the help of a 45 percent, five-year job-creation tax credit. The company repairs, cleans, and paints freight and tank railcars.

Taiho Corporation of America got a 40 percent, six-year job-creation tax credit for its expansion project in Tiffin. Taiho makes bearings and bushings for engines, transmissions, and air-conditioning systems. The company is building a 40,000-square-foot extension to its 140,000-square-foot building, and it told the state it expects to create 35 full-time positions. As of August, it had 112 employees.
